To customers in the UK: Handling of VAT
Thank you very much for using 8mart.
As of January 1st, 2021, when the loaded value of goods* purchased from overseas is £135 (equivalent to ¥20,328 as of December 15, 2021) or less, the overseas seller is obliged to collect VAT depending on the goods.
* International shipping fees are excluded from the loaded value.

However, due to our lack of understanding about VAT system in the UK, we have not properly collected VAT from our customers when the loaded value of goods is £135 or less. We will not charge our customers in the UK for uncollected VAT on items ordered by today. In addition, VAT will not be collected for future shipments that include items ordered up to today. On the other hand, we will properly pay VAT to the UK government up to today at our expense. We apologize for the short notice, but after December 16th, 2021(JST), when the loaded value is £135 or less, VAT will be collected depending on the goods.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to customers in the UK and the UK government. Once again, we will properly calculate and pay VAT to the UK government.
Please feel free to let us know if you have any questions.
