Announcement of Business Partnership Between Cross-Border E-Commerce Service “8mart” and Flea Market App “Mercari”
Cross-border e-commerce service 8mart, operated by Habibi, Inc. (headquartered in Shibuya, Tokyo; Takafumi Genji, Representative Director; “Habibi”), announces that it has entered into a business partnership with flea market app Mercari, operated by Mercari, Inc. (headquartered in Minato, Tokyo; Shintaro Yamada, Director, Representative Executive Officer and CEO; “Mercari”), as of June 30, 2023.
Habibi’s cross-border e-commerce service 8mart has entered into a business partnership with Mercari’s flea market app Mercari as of June 30, 2023. Customers residing outside of Japan can now purchase products sold on Mercari through 8mart.
■ Background and Objectives
Habibi has been delivering Japanese products to customers residing in over 40 countries and regions through its cross-border e-commerce service, 8mart.
We have received numerous requests from our overseas 8mart customers for “immediate access to newly released products in Japan” and “opportunities to buy high-quality used items from Japan at affordable prices”.
Mercari has a cumulative total of more than 3 billion items listed, and entertainment and hobby-related products are actively traded due to “Oshikatsu” demand from overseas.
Through this business partnership, Habibi aims to provide customers of all demographics residing outside of Japan with consistent access to the Japanese products they want and to establish a system that meets their needs.
Mercari aims to expand cross-border sales channels and bring the Mercari shopping experience to an even broader customer base.
