Notice of Temporary Suspension of Japan Post Shipments to Canada

* This notice is limited to Japan Post shipments addressed to Canada. Other destinations sent by Japan Post, as well as shipments to Canada sent by DHL or FedEx, are not impacted.

Japan Post has resumed accepting shipments to Canada as of today, November 14, 2025.

Accordingly, for customers who were waiting for Japan Post to restart acceptance, we will resume packing and dispatching your packages starting today.
In addition, the Extension storage fee waiver that had been in place since September 29, 2025 will end as of today.

According to media reports, the strike has shifted from a full-scale strike to a partial one, and some areas have already resumed operations.
However, Japan Post is still suspending acceptance of shipments as of today.
We will continue to monitor the situation closely and inform you of the shipping cost once Japan Post resumes acceptance.

According to Japan Post's announcement dated September 29, 2025 (English version not yet released), postal items addressed to Canada are temporarily not being accepted due to a strike conducted by members of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers, which includes some Canada Post employees.

At this time, it remains unclear how long the strike and the corresponding suspension of postal services will last. To ensure prompt delivery of your orders, as a temporary measure, 8mart has decided to hide the following Japan Post shipping options - EMS, International Parcel Post (Air), and Small Packet - from the international shipping fee payment screen.

Until the situation becomes clearer, we will temporarily waive the Extension Storage Fee, and items will not be disposed of even after 90 days have passed. Therefore, please also consider postponing shipment as an option.
