[Important] Notice Regarding Account and Payment Name Matching

Thank you for always choosing 8mart.

As a general rule, we ask customers to use a credit card or other payment method in the name of the 8mart account holder.

We have occasionally seen cases such as the following:
- A customer is unable to complete 3D Secure authentication with their own card and uses a card belonging to a family member or friend instead.
- A customer allows a family member or friend to use their 8mart account, and that person makes payment using their own card.

8mart's Terms of Service already prohibit Members from allowing another person to use their account, Member ID, or password.

Separately, we have previously accepted payments made using a credit card or other payment method in a name different from that of the 8mart account holder in certain circumstances, such as when 3D Secure authentication was successfully completed.

Going forward, we will apply stricter rules regarding payment names in order to clearly identify the account holder and the person making the payment and to maintain accurate transaction and payment records.

Sharing an 8mart account with another person may also result in the actual user using the service without having reviewed or agreed to our Terms of Service and other applicable rules.

Payment Policy Going Forward
As a general rule, the payment name should match the name of the 8mart account holder, except for existing customers covered by the exception described below.

For packages packed on or after October 1, 2026, if the 8mart account holder and the holder of the payment method are different individuals, additional verification and administrative handling may be required. In such cases, an additional fee equal to 10% of the item price will apply.

We do not require an exact match in spelling or formatting. Minor differences that can reasonably be understood to refer to the same person will generally not be treated as a name mismatch. However, if the names clearly appear to belong to different individuals, the additional 10% fee will apply.

The following are acceptable:
- Using your own 8mart account and paying with your own credit card or other payment method.
- Using your own account and your own payment method while having the package shipped to a family member, friend, or another recipient.
- If you previously created your account using a nickname or another name and already have a payment history with us, continuing to use the same payment name that you have previously used.

The recipient's name at the shipping address does not need to match the name of the 8mart account holder.

For example, you may purchase an item using your own account and payment method and have it shipped directly to a family member or friend as a gift.

The following payment arrangements will be subject to an additional fee equal to 10% of the item price:
- Using a credit card or other payment method belonging to a family member, friend, or another third party.
- Using a payment method under a name different from the name associated with your previous payment history.

Please note that sharing your 8mart account, Member ID, or password with another person is prohibited under our Terms of Service, regardless of whether an additional fee is paid.

When creating a new 8mart account, please register using your own legal name. Creating a new account using a false, fictitious, or unrelated name is not permitted.

If you already have an existing 8mart account registered under a nickname or another name, you do not need to create a new account solely for this reason, provided that you have a previous payment history with us and continue to make payments under the same name used for those previous payments.
